Holiday Giving

Build-A-Bear Workshop

Heading to the Build A Bear store with the Girl Scouts to build bears, which will be donated to children in the hospital during the holidays! This is one of my favorite activities with the Girls Scouts. What’s your favorite way to spread cheer during the holiday season?

I spread Holiday cheer by smiling at strangers and saying, ” Happy Holidays”

Every December prior to Christmas, my kids research Women with Kids Shelters in the LA area and we choose one to visit and take clothes and toys to. Basically, I have them go through all of their things that never play with and rarely if ever wear in the closet and we take the clothes to the cleaners, wipe down the toys and wrap them before our visit. That is our Christmas every year, their traditional Christmas they get with their mother, but with me it is all about giving to those less fortunate. Last year my daughter Skylar was talking to one of the women and her 6 year old and they said they had been living under a bridge. Skylar said, “What about at night time, where was your daughter’s bedroom?” Needless to say my kids are very appreciative of what they have and they are aware that many people have far less to be thankful for.
